Darryl “The Hammer” Isaacs is hiring! Our law firm is expanding and needs the help of a highly motivated and organized Controller.

Responsibilities will include:

• This is a Hybrid role.
• Oversee the firm's financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare and present financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to the firm owner and Executive Board.
• Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, laws, and accounting principles.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and safeguard firm assets.
• Build and nurture a strong relationship with the firm's banking partners to optimize financial services and develop effective banking strategies.
• Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors.
• Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to optimize the firm's financial position.
• Collaborate with the Executive Board to develop and track budgets.
• Administer payroll and benefits programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with employment laws.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems and software to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist in strategic planning initiatives and financial modeling for potential business opportunities.
• Provide financial guidance and support to practice group leaders to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare performance reports for management review.
• Prepare financial data for RFPs, client billing, and vendor negotiations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or as a Controller or similar financial leadership role
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles and financial reporting
• Familiarity with legal accounting software is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data to support business decisions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the staff and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to manage and motivate a finance team.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial software applications.
• Solid understanding of legal industry billing practices and revenue recognition rules.
