Remington Seeds, a global leader in the agriculture industry, is seeking a mid-career accounting professional to join our Finance Team in a leadership position with essential decision-making responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will assist the CFO in all financial functions and processes necessary to run a large, multi-location agricultural production business. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to monthly internal and quarterly U.S. GAAP general ledger closings including journal entry completion, account reconciliation, and reporting.
Perform financial accounting and supervision for:
Fixed assets, including related forecasting and reporting,
Intercompany accounting for domestic and international affiliates, and
Real estate and personal property tax assessments, accruals, and payments.
Assist the CFO with financial analysis and responses related to equity partner inquiries and information requests in conjunction with forecasting, budgeting, Board reporting, U.S. GAAP financial results, and variance analysis.
Participate in the annual financial statement audit, including completion of third-party information requests.
Be an integral contributor to the annual 5-Year Forecast process, including timelines, assumptions, and reporting, while working closely with management.
Manage compliance activities including federal, state, and local income tax reporting, sales and use tax reporting, business license registrations, etc.
Learn and ultimately lead processes supporting annual budgeting, financial reporting, financial analysis and compliance and assurance
Prerequisites
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
7-10+ years of experience demonstrating progressive work history and knowledge
Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
Superb attention to detail – ability to process data and identify patterns
