As a result of business growth, we’re looking to recruit an Accounting Assistant to report into and support our Divisional Controller with daily routine accounting processes. A large amount of your time will be spent taking care of bank reconciliations, customer and supplier invoicing and supporting both sales and purchase ledger activities, so you’ll need to have had some experience of these accounting processes.
Along with all accounting processes comes month and year end so you’ll also assist the Divisional Controller with what can be a very busy period with accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and journal entries. If you’re looking for a role which you can gain a vast amount of experience in most accounting processes as well as being able to turn your hand to other office activities, then this will be the role for you.
This is a fast-paced role and will be a great opportunity for someone who loves a good team environment, has a positive attitude and doesn’t mind chipping in to help others.
Knowledge and experience of accounting processes within a similar role
Understanding and/or knowledge of multistate sales and sales taxes – we don’t expect you to know everything about this; as we sell into 15 different states and will be adding an additional 5 in the next 6 months, you’ll need to have had some exposure.
Experience with month and year end processes
Strong IT skills with the ability to pick up new technologies/systems
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines with great attention to detail
It would be great if you also had, but these aren’t essential:
Experience of working with ERP systems
Experience assisting HR/Personnel teams with related activities
Degree in an accounting or related subject
