The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for providing vision and direction for the administrative office operations, including effective Information Technology and Fiscal services. The CFO ensures that the agency has the capacity to achieve its mission through fiscal and IT services: LIFEdesigns partners with people of all ages and abilities to lead meaningful and active lives.
The CFO is responsible for following all fiscal and information technology policies and procedures of LIFEDesigns and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The CFO is responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all customer and employee records and ensuring that the records are safe at all times. The CFO will be held accountable for knowing and understanding abuse/neglect policies and complying with all policies and procedures of the Abuse/Neglect Policy; keeping current on all updates to policies and procedures of the position, attending staff meetings, and providing input to the management team on issues related to the position.

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for the Controller, Staff Accountants and IT Director.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The CFO will primarily work in an office environment in a seated position. The CFO must be able to sit for long periods of time and tolerate prolonged computer use. Due to the nature of our business, the CFO is required to maintain CPR and First Aid certification. The CFO may occasionally work off-site to conduct audits or site visits. When working with or near any individuals, there is always the possibility of aggressive acts. Aggressive acts could consist of pulling, pushing, pinching, biting, hair pulling, kicking, slapping, punching, scratching, head-butting, and throwing objects. Employees may also come in contact with bodily fluids such as urine, feces, saliva, mucus, blood, and vomitus. Employees must use appropriate personal protective equipment and universal precautions as required.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Occasional travel is required of this position, most during the workday.
Required Education and Experience:
The CFO must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, A Masters is preferred, five (5) years of supervisory experience, and experience with fiscal operations. Experience in establishing sound accounting policies, audit preparation, Medicaid cost reimbursement, and understanding of tax laws and implications for nonprofit are required.
